Excellent book set in the colonial times when all the powers that be were trying to form the east india trading companies. Could have done with more historical information but I enjoyed the feminist vs the rogue verbal sparring matches between the main characters. I am officially a fan of Christina Courtenay. Heres the deal: I rarely read romance, dont do the damsel in distress bit, and cant stand virginal women, but I enjoy Courtenays writing style very much and love the banter and flirtaciousness between her couples and her suspenseful storylines.
