I loved this series of books that I read back in junior high. They are from the same syndicate that wrote the Nancy Drew books and the Hardy Boys, but I much preferred the Dana Girls. I wasn't to thrilled with how the gypsies were represented in this one, the school girls reactions to the note were just terribly prejudiced. But the mystery and story were interesting enough and as usual I loved Jean and Louise. This is the first Dana Girls mystery I have ever read and I find it to be well done and quite interesting. The Dana girls are Jean and Louise. Jean is blond and 'vivacious' and Louise is dark haired and serious-minded. They go to Starhurst School, a boarding school.
