This was published in 1955. It was a very well done crime fiction, but I couldn't get past all of the heavily racist parts. It doesn't hold up well over time. If it wasn't for that, this would be a 4 star book. Written in the 1950s and '60s under one of John Creasey's many pseudonyms, the Gideon mystery series makes for good kick-back relaxation.
