More About Camp: Queer Aesthetics and the Performing Subject--A Reader
An awesome collection of queer and gay related radical essays. It's like the gay bible. "Homosexual Signs" by Harold Beaver is the best one. Who are you Harold Beaver? You're awesome! I initially rated this a 4 out of 5, but then I realized at some point that I hadn't read about five essays I really needed to for my thesis, and when I went back and read those I was a lot more impressed by the scope of this anthology. Although camp is still only peripheral to my project, the additional essays I read have provided... A broad survey of Camp from Marie Antoinette to the 1960s Batman series. Lots of argument, and only a few theoretical climbs up bullshit mountain. I've learned a lot about Camp, even if I'm still not quite sure what it is.
